Week 34, 8-26-19, Pench Detectives, Service with Hno McGaiver, and a Baptism that changed my heart and doubled my faith.

At the start of the week we had a missionary couple come and check our Pench. We worked like mothers and had it REAL CLEAN when they arrived. They informed us it was cleaner than the hermanas Pench! Dirty Boys-1, Sister Missionaries- 0! XD

Later in the week we had a service project building a room on top of the roof of our Ward Mission Leader Hno Le Pera (aka MCGAIVER). HE is a total goofball and thus we had a good time doing some construction and playing with his ANCIENT dogs haha.

The main occurence of this week was teaching Tamara, an 18 yr old sister of Karen and daughter of Aida (two studly recent converts). Following an impression of the Spirit, we went and stopped by their house and asked if she would come out and speak with us. She never had interest in hearing our message, but some big things had just changed in her life and she listened! She then came to church two Sundays ago (it being her third time but first doing it for herself alone and not her mom or sis), and there she cried being touched by the Spirit as Hno Le Pera opened up and began speaking to her about eternal families and many other points of the Gospel. From there we finished teaching her all through out the week, having some very powerful lessons and some iffy ones. But she told us she wanted to get baptized Saturday, and after passing her interview, some family members gave her some real opposition, saying she wouldn't complete with the standards and referencing past transgressions. It was super sad, but after chatting heart-to-heart to her, her sister Karen saw her sincerity and defended her righteous change of heart. The two of them began reading the BOM and praying together daily, and Karen actually reviewed some of the missionary lessons with her! :) It was miraculous to see the Gospel bring them so close, and also the change in Karen has been amazing! We saw the little paper-back copy of the Book of Mormon we had given her months ago, and she had marked it with colored pencils and sticky-notes, highlighting things we had showed her and several verses containing the basic doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I was taken back and know that only the Lord can work miracles and change lives and families.

Tamara WAS able to get baptized this past Sunday, against all doubts and odds. Despite a MOUNTAIN of challenges, God cleared the way as we fasted and prayed unto Him, and now Tamara will go see the prophet with Aida and karen on Wednesday, and they are all very happy to have Tamara enter into the Baptismal covenant with them.

God lives and loves us, and is still working HIS work in my life and yours today. TODAY if we will ask Him for guidance, TODAY we can participate in the great gathering of Israel. These things are true, the Book of Mormon is TRUE!

Love,
Elder Davis
