Week 33, 8/19/19; A Drunk Baptism and the flood that followed

HELLO!

This transfer has been amazing! The Lord has blessed me with crazy adventures, spiritual experiences, and a happiness that lies beyond words.

-I had divisions with my Zone Leaders, and Elder Taylor is a stud! We had a heart to heart (in a manly way I assure you) and we helped each other see the mission in new and exciting ways, and we learned together how we can be more natural and sincere in our teaching and contacts. Also we made waffles with bacon and stuff but being missionaries we decided subbing in baking soda for our lack of baking powder was a good idea... We ate like one then threw the rest out at and to the dogs. XD

-Had P-day over at the mall because we don´t have any cool rugged stuff here (fricking Bryce!) haha. It was fun! MOM, I FINALLY BEAT A CLAW MACHINE!!! After I did so, I got cocky and ended up having to buy Elder Taylor an ice cream.

-Elder Elliott made tedede with a grapefruit (he has an addiction)

-I burned a marshmallow over the stove... Looks like despite all change and time I have not matured yet hahaha!!!! XD
Now for the story that hurts a bit. We had been working really hard to prepare a good friend to get baptized. He had been smoking 20 cigarettes and drinking a lot, but he had gotten down to 3 in like a week. He got his baptismal interview, passed, was all ready to go and after we had prepared everything spiritually and physically for the baptism this past Saturday, he showed up buzzed and chewing on Halls to cover it. We had to pull him aside along with a few brethren of the ward and we talked openly about his addiction and more than that we testified of the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It ended up very well as the Spirit was there with us and our friend felt support and help. But as we finished chatting we looked down the hall and there was... Water?
We then ran over realizing we had been just finishing up the font, and we swiftly shut it off and boom the other like 4 members present grabbed mops and squeegees and we got working to get the water back in the font.
All was fine, and we ate cake and drank soda all together and it was one of the better utter failures I have experienced haha! :) The pics below with the squeegees and wet shoes are symbolic of the moment, seeing that we had forgotten to take photos of the process haha.

We are gonna keep working with our friend, and luckily we have some other wonderful people who are accepting the gospel and changing their lives as well. :)

The Lord lives and loves us. This work is to lift us all, and to help us make it back to Him. It is my privilege now in the mission as well to assist Him in this grand work. LOVE YOU FAMILY; BRANCH; NORTHPARK YSA; AND ALL YOU OTHER GUYS TOO.

Love,
Elder Davis
