Week 29, 7/22/19 All better!

I followed Hermana Resek's orders and wore a beanie and scarf pretty much everywhere all week, but BOOM that mixed with antibiotics and I am healthy as can be! :P We did quite a few activities on P-day, so I was kind of worried about the bronchitis getting worse... but then I would remember: I HAVE A SCARF! I am all good! XD

This week has been good, the weather is more normal, and we have found some great people to teach. It has been marvelous to see the Lord do His work as we walk the streets and talk to the people. :)

I have been thinking a great deal on the blessing of selfless service lately. It is something I had done and found useful early in my life, and it continues to be a grand blessing! I read in the Liahona for this month a little article addressing the topic and realized that really, when we engage in the service of others, our own fears, anxieties, pains and problems all begin to vanish, and we lift others from these ailments in the process! :) If you feel a bit self-critical, self-absorbed, or alone, one of the fastest and best ways to heal it is by looking up and reaching out. When we lose ourselves in service, we find ourselves more happy than before, and so the process continues. Meanwhile we leave a ministry of love and joy which blesses our family, friends, and neighbors in our wake.

I love you all and wish there was a way to capture the sacred experiences and moments that are found along the mission path, I wish that the feelings felt in some quiet Argentine street could be more easily expressed, or that I could show you the changes people make as they accept the Gospel into their lives.
I know that the Savior lives, and I know that He stands as a very present help in times of need, and that His glad tidings touch the hearts of the meek and weary. If the confusion and loudness of daily living ever cloud-out the guidance or answers you are seeking, we need only remember that Jesus Christ is "the way the truth, and the life." Times may be dark and storms may loom over us, but we are well aware, that in a short time, the Light of the World will come, to bind up all fears and to banish all shadows. I work, prepare, and wait for that day.

Love,
Elder Davis
